Overview
The Backwoods custom footprint at Rolling Loud Miami 2023 aimed to create a memorable and immersive experience for artists and their guests. Inspired by Miami’s vibrant culture and beachy atmosphere, the activation transformed the artist compound into a coastal oasis.
Approach
To achieve this, the Backwoods brand team enlisted Matrix MKTG to design and develop this impactful activation. Together, they established a Swag & Surf Shop featuring real Miami sand, a lifeguard station, Adirondack chairs, and Miami-inspired colors. The brand also designed and distributed custom merchandise, including hats, beach towels, t-shirts, and beach bags. Additionally, Backwoods conducted artist interviews and engaged with brand enthusiasts to strengthen their connection with the local culture.
Results
The Backwoods activation at Rolling Loud Miami was a resounding success, earning a platinum MUSE Award in the Experiential & Immersive category in 2023. This prestigious recognition validated the impact and effectiveness of the activation. It captivated attendees with its visually appealing design, immersive atmosphere, and unique experiences. Artists, their guests, and the media were impressed by the brand’s creative branding and experiential marketing efforts, making the Backwoods footprint the highlight of the artist compound. The event showcased the power of immersive experiences in connecting with consumers and building brand awareness.
